What is the GiyuShino Mid-Year Exchange?

The GiyuShino Mid-Year Exchange serves as a gift-giving event for creators of GiyuShino fanworks. Participants will be asked to create either an artwork or fanfiction for a fellow participant. In exchange, they will also receive either an artwork or fanfiction from another participant.

Currently, this event is open to artists and writers.

Is there a theme for the event?

This will be a themed event. Following the poll posted on Twitter, the theme for this exchange will be Married/Domestic. As such, the creators are highly encouraged to incorporate this theme in their work.

Can our work be created in languages other than English?

At this point, we require everyone to be able to produce output in English.

However, depending on the language preferences of the people who sign up, we can match people to create work that is not in English.

What will the works be rated?

This exchange will be open for both SFW and NSFW work.

Only participants aged 18+ will be allowed to request for and create NSFW work. We require for all to be honest during our applications so that we match you appropriately based on your age, as well as the content you will receive and create.

What is the minimum output I am expected to produce?

Written work should have a minimum of 2,000 words.
Artworks should be at least A4-sized and colored. Backgrounds are optional.

Is traditional art allowed?

Yes!

While artwork will not be given and received phyiscally, traditional artists may scan the work to be given to their giftee. The minimum resolution required for scanned artwork is 300dpi; the preferred resolution is 600dpi.

Why is an AO3 account required?

We'll be compiling both artworks and fanfiction in a hidden/unreleased AO3 collection for simultaneous reveal on June 30, 2021. Work will be compiled in that collection for their initial release.

Can I post my work in my own social media accounts?

Yes!

You are allowed to share your own work through any of your personal platforms starting July 7, 2021, a week after the Collection & Creator Reveal on June 30, 2021. Do tag our accounts so that we may share the original posts.

(Note: Creator Reveals will not show any of the artwork or fanfiction in our social media account. Instead, it will link back to the AO3 work found in the collection. We do this so that we do not redirect traction from the original work—both artwork and fanfiction.)

The @giyuuandshinobu accounts will not claim ownership of any work created for and submitted to this event. We only serve as the bridge and medium of gifting from the creator of the work to its recipient.
